Missourians of All Ages Pursue Good Health With Workout Program Shape Up Missouri!, the team based approach to getting fit, launches its spring session on January 21, 2008. The session continues until April 15, and older Missourians as well as youngsters and their parents are encouraged to participate. Teams are composed of two to 10 people. "Team captains are responsible for reporting group results and servings as liaisons to the program," explained Diane Hall, AARP Missouri associate state director for community service and education. "This program is just one example of how AARP Missouri is helping promote healthy lifestyles." Shape Up Missouri! Participants will receive a free training T-shirt plus weekly nutrition and fitness tips and healthy-living challenges. The entry fee is $15 per participant; AARP members receive a 50 percent discount. Winning teams can take home cash prizes, so don’t delay in signing up.
